Heather says:

I’ve added a reader poll to the sidebar. I’ve had requests for both variations, so I’ll go with the majority.

Second item of business, I’m now taking recipe requests. What recipes are you looking for? Feel free to be specific, but before making your request, be sure to check out the index and be sure it’s not already there. If you see a recipe missing a picture, I just haven’t gotten around to making it again and had craptastic photo skills at the time. I’m trying to work my way back through the archives and update the pictures. As it’s a one woman show here in the kitchen, I’m sure you understand if it’s not exactly high priority.

As a reminder, unless otherwise noted in the recipe itself, each recipe has been through the Solos family critique. The children’s opinions are not as heavily weighted as the adults.

While we’re just chatting, how was your week?

I know this is an old post, but I just went through all of the recipes looking for side dishes. I stink at side dishes and I always kind of throw something together to fill up the plate…if you still want recipe ideas, I'd love to see more sides, even if they're not life-changing…some really good and simple ideas to use with rice, potatoes, pasta of different types and of course, vegetables, would be great. I'm going to try the roasted vegetables tonight.

And salad ideas or salad dressing ideas would be great as well. We eat it all the time, but I'm sick of so many dressings and don't feel very inspired in that area.

Hey, Heather, I use craptastic all the time. 😀

  3. mom, again on September 6, 2009 at 6:52 pm

hmm, count me as another for having them optional. I usually cut and paste into my recipe software anyway rather than directly printing.

ya know it depends on what i'm printing……somethings need picture somethings don't……, i know there's one in every crowd………

i always copy, paste and adjust everything into ms word any way

    but thank you 🙂

    LOL @ "craptastic". Love it.
May I use that word also, or have you copyrighted it?

Suggestion on the poll question, but, being a website dweeb, I have no idea how hard it would be to implement: Could you make printing the photo an option? Have "no picture" as the default, but have a checkbox if you want the photo.

Also, each time I've left a comment in this new comment world you've created, I've selected to subscribe to all new comments, but I have not gotten a single one, even though there have been plenty of comments. Is there something I'm doing wrong that you can see from your end? (She asked, hopefully…)

I also laughed at "craptastic." Nice word.

Thanks, I make-up or claim a lot of words, telling myself the English language is dynamic and I need to adapt. 😉

Ah, that must be the problem. I never signed up at intense debate. Silly Bobbie. Smart Heather.

As far as making posts have the option of images or not, that falls outside my ability at this time. Maybe in the future.

It's been a great week here in the cornfields of Indiana…time could slow down to a crawl and I wouldn't mind one bit!
I don't have a recipe request at the moment…just wanted to give you a cyber-hug and encourage you. I really enjoy this site, try to share it with friends often and hope you're getting the help/support/encouragement you need to carry on. I'd say be sure to take time for yourself and your family, but you know this already!!

    Happy Weekend!!
