Mesh bags, such as those onions are sold in, make great pot scrubbers. Be sure to snip off any metal fasteners before using them on your good pots.

Yes, they make great pot scrubber!
If you get the kind of onion bag that has a drawstring you can easily work the staple out that holds the drawstring shut and reuse the bag when going back for more veggies at the grocery store. This helps the earth by not having those plastic bags in the landfills and it is fun to reuse things like that. If the bag has a UPC code, just use a marker to blacken it out!
Plus, if you hang the bag with the produce in it, such as potatoes and onions, they last longer as air can circulate around the veggies. I hang mine in the broom closet.
