    Coffee Punch

by Heather on October 4, 2007

    Heather says:

If I hadn’t already fallen for my friend’s charming personality, this punch would have endeared her to my coffee loving soul.

    Coffee Punch

    • 12 cups strong coffee (Waffle House strong)
    • 1/2 cup sugar + extra to sweeten to taste
    • 1 generous tsp vanilla (eyeball it)
    • 1/2 pint whipping cream (It’s a treat, not a dietary staple.)
    • vanilla ice cream

While the coffee is still hot, stir in the sugar.  Refrigerate, this can be done the night prior.

Add the vanilla and whipping cream, check the flavor, it should be strong but not bitter.  Pour into a punch bowl and garnish with ice cream.

Man! I thought there was going to be booze in it… isn’t that the point of punch? :) Otherwise this just sounds like a fancy iced coffee… :P

Heather, you take the most beautiful pictures. I’m not a big coffee fan, but that picture makes me want to try the recipe.

We do make this punch, but we add Coffee Liquer to it or Amaretto – and sometimes Creme de Cacao – for the real ‘kick’.

I’ve made this in individual servings before. Instead of white sugar, I use brown. The brown sugar gives it a great caramel-y taste. And a shot of Hersey’s syrup doesn’t hurt either!
