With summer here and the kids out of school, I am sure that many of you are putting your creative juices to the test by coming up with some delicious snack recipes.

I resort to our taco dip (perfect for the Magic Bullet) and popcorn (which wouldn’t work in the Magic Bullet)on a regular basis, but I need some new ideas and am looking to my faithful readers to break up our monotony.

Before we purchased our Magic Bullet , our youngest daughter called me to the TV a few weeks ago literally reciting the entire infomercial for the Magic Bullet, testifying that we HAD to get one. I must say that it’s a product I have wanted to try for a long time. We dice, chop, blend and wash a LOT, so this would be save tons of time.

If you don’t have a Magic Bullet, but have a snack recipe to share in the comments, that great. The recipe just needs to include an aspect where this machine would make things easier.

  1. I would use it to make black bean chicken n cheese quesadillas… my family LOVES them! It would make the consistency so much better for the little ones who are picky!

    @Jens, I don’t really have a recipe.. I just throw stuff on a tortilla, lol!

    I use leftover chicken, shred it and mix it with salsa and shredded cheese (that’s where the Magic Bullet would be perfect!). Then I spoon it onto 1/2 the tortilla (already in a pan heated to med) and top with some Cuban seasoned black beans (and sometimes some thin avocado slices). Fold the tortilla in half on itself. Flip the tortilla over after 3-5 minutes. This has to be done carefully so as not to spray fillings all over the kitchen! Cook 3-5 minutes on each side or until cheese is melty. The easiest way to cut the quesadilla into pieces is with a piza cutter. I serve with a little dab of sour cream 😀


  2. We make hummus all the time and I think a Magic Bullet would be just the thing to make it in. I dont really measure but will estimate the quantities – you can adjust the lemon juice and garlic to suit your taste – I like more garlic, less lemon.

    Mix the following in the Magic Bullet:
    1 can gabanzo beans – drained
    1/3 cup tahini – very important to use a good Middle Eastern brand
    2 cloves garlic – pressed
    1 tsp salt
    splash of lemon juice
    Drizzle a bit of olive oil on top and serve with pita bread or crackers (our favorite are the pita crackers from Costco)
    My kids are pretty adventurous eaters – they love hummus.

    @Sonia, My kids love hummus too! It’s great with carrot sticks, cucumber slices, or cheese slices too!! Yum! I may have to make some soon!

    if you increase the lemon to the juice of a WHOLE lemon, possibly more, you will have the lemon hummus that is a favorite around our house

  3. Fruity yogurt smoothie

    Freeze 4 oz vanilla yogurts…..add a frozen yogurt, plus fruits of your choice (banana, blueberry, strawberry, blackberry, etc.).

    Change things up by changing the combination of flavors…vary the yogurt flavor and the fruits…
    Add a variety of nuts or coconut, for a change in taste and texture.

    Add milk, if you like yours thinner….

    For a flashy topping, add a sprinkle of colored sugar :)

    I love guacamole and my husband makes the best ever. I’m not sure of the exact amounts, but I’m sure the Magic Bullet would make this easier

  5. Healthy frozen treat (couldn’t possibly call it ice cream BUT it is a tasty lowfat treat)

    1/2 cup strawberries (chop to desired consistency in Magic Bullet)
    1 cup frozen Cool Whip (Sugar Free, Regular or seasonal Strawberry work well)

    Mix and enjoy….couldn’t be easier & it’s delicious!

  7. I added it as my tasty tuesday submission this week, but here’s a great recipe for an iced cappuccino.

    2 oz hot or boiling water
    2 Tbsp Instant coffee crystals (I use decaf!)
    2 Tbsp Sugar (or sugar substitute if you must)
    6-10 Ice Cubes
    1/3-1/2 cup cream (I use half and half/10%)

    Mix first 3 ingredients in small cup until dissolved. Throw into a blender (or Magic Bullet!!!) with 6-10 ice cubes and pulse/blend until a slushy consistency. Add cream (or milk if watching calories) and blend until frothy.
    With the magic bullet you could blend them up and add different ‘flavors’ for each person – hazelnut, vanilla, irish cream. Tons of possibilities!

  9. Artichoke Dip With Roasted Red Peppers


    * 1 cup mayonnaise
    * 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
    * 1 can or jar (12 to 14 ounces) artichoke hearts, drained, not marinated
    * 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
    * 1/8 teaspoon onion powder, optional
    * 1/4 cup minced roasted red pepper

    Combine all ingredients; spread in a pie plate or shallow 1-quart baking dish. Bake at 350° for 30 minutes. Serve cold or heat in the oven for about 10 minutes at 350°. Don’t reheat in the microwave or dip might separate.

    I don’t have a magic bullet but It would make this recipe (and so many others) so much easier to make.

    I love to entertain and I think the Bullet would make some of my favorite recipes so easy!

    Watermelon Coconut Margarita

    2 cups seeded watermelon chunks
    2 ounces coconut flavored rum
    1/2 cup shredded coconut
    juice from 1 fresh lime
    1 cup ice

    Place all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. Pour into a sugar-rimmed glass.

    Serve with :

    Roasted Veggie Dip
    Roast veggies (I use zucchini, yellow squash, red onion, & orange pepper) in over 400 for about 30mins. Use bullet to blend the veggies with cream cheese. Delicious dip or bagel spread!


  11. Shrimp Dip

    This shrimp dip is made with sour cream and cream cheese, Ranch Dressing mix, and other seasonings.

    2 small packages (3 ounces each) cream cheese, softened
    1 cup sour cream
    1 tablespoon chopped green onion
    couple of drops of hot sauce
    1/2 teaspoon paprika
    1 envelope Ranch Dressing mix (.4 ounce)
    salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste, optional
    6 to 8 ounces small shrimp, drained and chopped

    Beat cream cheese with sour cream until well blended. Blend in the green onion, hot sauce, paprika, dressing mix. Stir in shrimp. Taste and adjust seasonings with salt and pepper, if desired. Chill until serving time.


  12. Our favorite is irish pear salad.

    1 can pears
    1 cool whip
    1 8oz cream cheese
    1 pkg jello lime

    Mix pears and cream cheese add jello packet then cool whip.
    Let cool in fridge then serve.
    Easy to make and YUMMY to eat!

    I just made a DELICIOUS fruit smoothie yesterday!
    8 oz strawberries, frozen
    1 peach, pitted and thrown in!
    4 oz blackberries
    4 oz Orange Juice
    1 scoop of Vanilla Bean ice cream
    Blend together and you’ve got a delicious, creamy, flavorful smoothie! Better than those smoothie shops out there! I would LOVE to win this to continue making even better creations! :)

    We love to make pico de gallo/salsa all the time for a topping or filling in burritos, tacos, or just chips. You can make it super chucky, or very minced, but it is still great!!:
    Juice of about 2- 3 lemons OR limes(which ever you prefer)
    1 jalepeno seeded and chopped finely(or just use jarred or canned)
    1 small onion diced
    2 medium tomatoes( whatever kind you have on hand)
    Handful of cilantro leaves( i just substituted parsley the other day and worked great!- so either or is fine)- Mince finley

    Add all chopped ingredients together in a bowl and Voila!! yumminess…. I have sometimes in a bind just thrown everything in the blender too, or even added avacado to make guacamole. Love this recipe :) Thank you :)

    For our snack we do a fruit dip.

    Equal parts of whipped Cream Cheese and Fluff…Got to make sure it’s mixed real well and start dipping fresh fruit. It’s best with Strawberries!!!


  16. Hummus


    2 sprigs fresh rosemary
    1 clove garlic, peeled
    2 (15.5 ounce) cans garbanzo beans, drained
    1/4 cup olive oil
    1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
    1/4 cup cold water
    salt and pepper to taste


    1. Strip rosemary leaves from stems, discard stems, and place leaves in the bowl of a food processor. Add garlic and pulse until finely chopped. Pour in the garbanzo beans; process until evenly blended.
    2. With food processor running, slowly pour in the olive oil, scraping sides of the bowl as necessary. Pour in balsamic vinegar and process until evenly blended. Taste, and add more vinegar, 1 tablespoon at a time, as desired. Pour in the water and process to make a spreadable consistency. Add more water, 1 tablespoon at a time, if necessary. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Chill before serving.

    Since I don’t have a magic bullet Iuse a food processor but it’s a pain to drag out and prevents me from making this often.

  18. Liz’s Zesty Salsa

    1 can Ro-tel
    1 half onion chopped
    3-4 slices of jalapeno
    Cilantro (to taste)
    1 tablespoon minced garlic
    half a dried habanero pepper from Mexico (optional)

    Mix all ingredients in a food chopper/processor, or better yet in the Magic Bullet, and enjoy fresh, spicy, salsa!

    Pretzels, Ritz crackers, sliced fresh fruit-pineapple, green apples, oranges, bananas and anything else that is delcious to you and serve it with warmed peanut butter and Nutella (the Hazelnut/chocolate spread) for dipping…simple and oh so good.


  20. We recently started on the Specific Carbohydrate Diet to see if it can help with my daughter’s ulcerative colitis, so our snack options are very limited. But one item I used to love to make is Goat Cheese & Veggie Croustillant with Blackberry Coulis. It’s pretty easy to make. You can use just the basics (won ton wrappers and cheese) or you can add some or all of the ingredients listed below.


    – Package of large won ton wrappers (found in the refrigerated area – usually with vegetarian/organic items near the fresh produce area)
    -1 goat cheese log
    -2 cloves of garlic
    -1/2 lb of portabella mushrooms
    -1/2 lb of green beans
    -3 cherry tomatoes
    -3 walnuts
    -olive oil
    -salt and pepper

    1. Pre-heat oven to 400.

    2. Cover cookie sheet with aluminum foil

    3. Place 12 large won ton wrappers on a cookie sheet

    4. Prepare a blackberry coulis, either from scratch (use Magic Bullet or blender to grind blackberries, then place on stove to cook to a liquid consistency) or by using a jam or jelly base.

    5. Bake the squares at 400 degrees for about 3 minutes. They should be hard, but not yet ‘toasted’.

    6. Place 1/2 lb of portabella mushrooms, 1/2 of fresh cut green beans, 2 chopped cloves of garlic and 4 tbsp of olive oil in a pan, salt, pepper and cover. You can use the Magic Bullet to speed up the chopping process. Cook until the vegetables are tender.

    7. Cut the goat cheese log into 12 1/4-inch thick slices.

    8. Place a small mix of cooked vegetables at the center of each square.

    9. Cover the vegetables with a slice of goat cheese.

    10. Set your oven to ‘Broil’. When ready, broil the squares until the goat cheese melts and the squares are toasted.

    11. Place your squares on a large plate – large enough to contain all the squares and leave a bit of room for some extra coulis.

    12. Slice 2 or 3 large cherry tomatoes and place a slice on each square, on top of the hot goat cheese.

    13. Top each tomato slice with a 1/4 of a walnut.

    14. Pour the coulis sparingly on each square (if desired) and pour a larger amount on the plate.

    You can modify this by using less filling. Fold the won ton wrapper in half, pinch the edges together and then broil until the outside is cooked. You can also cut up pieces of turkey pepperoni and include them with the cheese. My daughter loved these and I loved being about to make an after school snack that included vegetables that we could both enjoy!


  21. One of my entire (which is hard to come by) family’s favorite meals is pecan chicken. The kids love to dip it in honey mustard or bbq sauce and the hubby and I usually throw it on a salad. The Magic Bullet would be great for processing and mixing the pecan mixture because tiny chopped pecan pieces are so expensive! Enjoy~

    1 lb. boneless chicken tenderloins
    1 bag chopped pecans
    1 sleeve ritz crackers
    1tbsp. cinnamon
    1tsp. white pepper
    1 tsp. paprika
    1tsp. seasoned salt

    *Blend all seasonings , crackers, & pecans together
    Dip chicken in flour, then beaten egg, then repeat.
    Coat chicken in pecan mixture, pressing to be certain it is coated well
    Melt 1 1tbsp. butter and pour over chicken

    Bake 350 degrees @ 30 min., turning once or until cooked through.

  23. Avocado-Salmon Spread

    Great for tail gating parties because their is no mayo. Use as sandwich spread or on crackers

    Blend the following ingredients

    1 avocado

    1 Tbsp/15 mL lemon juice

    1 Tbsp/15 mL oil

    1 clove garlic, pressed

    1 can (6 oz/180 g) salmon, drained and flaked

    Cut the avocado in half and remove the pit. Scoop the flesh into your blender container.
    Add the lemon juice, oil and garlic.
    Blend until smooth.
    Transfer to a bowl and stir in the salmon.

    Another one that would work so much better with a magic bullet

    I am addicted to iced coffees and although i do not follow an actual recipe for this one i would just throw some coffee in it…some ice, and a nice big dose of vanilla creamer and sugar. Now…you can use an low fat vanilla creamer and artificial sweetener instead of sugar if you want a healthier version. Whip it up and you will have a nice cool frosty iced coffee to keep you cool!! Of course you could use any flavor of creamer as there are so many on the market these days. I soooo need a magic bullet of my very own :)

    Cabbage roll caserole

    1 lb cooked ground meat
    2 bags of cole slaw mix
    1-2 jars of spaghetti sauce
    2 cups of rice

    Mix in crockpot, cook all day until cabbage is soft.

    Serve with shredded cheese on top.

    My seven year old boy will eat this for breakfast if allowed…He loves it that much. Can’t taste the cabbage.

    Scrumptious Hot Cheesy Bacon Dip

    1 cup mayonnaise
    1 cup sour cream
    8 ounces cream cheese, softened
    1 lb bacon
    1 tomato, seeded and chopped
    2 green onions, chopped
    1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
    1 loaf round bread (I use the King’s Hawaiian bread) (optional)

    Preheat oven to 350. Fry the bacon and drain on paper towels. Chop up the bacon. In medium bowl, beat mayonaisse, sour cream, cheeses, green onion, and bacon. Fold in tomato. Place in bread bowl if desired or put in casserole dish. Bake for 20 minutes. Serve with assorted crackers or bread.

  28. We would LOVE to have the magic bullet to help us on our quest of eating healthier. We are on a mission in 2010 to eat healthier and this sure would help! My husband’s motto is eat right and move your tush.
    One of the recipes I would make would be:

    YUMMY REFRESHING SHRIMP SALSA (perfect for hot summer days)
    1/2 onion
    4 Hass Avocados cubed
    1 cup V-8 juice
    handful of parsley
    2 big tomatoes
    4 tbs of lime juice
    1 dozen chilled boiled shrimp

    Cube hass avocados, chop onion, parsley and tomatoes. Add v-8 juice and mix well. Add lime juice and chilled shrimp. ENJOY with tortillas. :) Simple and yummy on a hot summer day!


  29. One of my all-time favorite summer recipes is stuffed zucchini:

    2 medium sized zucchini
    1/2 sleeve ritz crackers
    Tbsp butter/margarine
    1/2 can cream of mushroom soup
    2 Tbsp’s butter/margarine (melted)
    One cup shredded cheddar

    Rinse zucchini thoroughly and dry; remove ends. Poke all over with fork and steam (whole) for a few minutes in microwave. Allow to cool a bit. Cut each zucchinni length wise in half and hull out middle until they resemble a boat; reserve hulled zucchini. In blender, mix cream of mushroom, half cup of shredded cheddar, one Tbsp butter and hulled zucchini until desired consistency. Stuff generously into hulled zucchini. In blender, crush crackers into fine crumbs. Top stuffed zucchini with cracker crumbs, then additional Tbsp butter. Finish with remaining shredded cheddar. Broil for five to ten minutes until cheese has melted and browned. I’ve also added onions and bacon into the stuffing mixture with good results. Mmmm.

    *Note: I currently use my large blender and/or food processor for this recipe but a Magic Bullet would sure get the job done much faster!


  30. We would have to much fun with one of these Magic Bullets! My kids LOVE Popsicles and we make one that would work wonderful with the Magic Bullet.
    Creamy Fruit Popsicles:
    1-2 bananas
    1/4 c. milk
    10 oz. package frozen sliced strawberries
    8 oz. can pineapple and syrup
    Blend all ingredients (in the Magic Bullet if you have one!)
    Pour into popsicle molds or paper cups (with sticks)
    Freeze …and wait! YUM!

    I love to make quick, easy and healthy snacks for at home. Here are a few that I love!

    Shredded Beef Tamales smothered in Black Bean and tomato sauce.

    Either make or purchase frozen tamales.
    Blend 1 can black beans, 1 8oz can sice stewed tomatoes, and 18oz can of corn in your Magic Bullet.
    Place tamales in glass baking dish and pour blended mix on top. Bake uncovered for the prescribed time on the tamale package or 15-20 minutes.
    5 minutes before the timer goes off top the tamales with shredded cheddar cheese. Continue to bake till cheese is melted.

    Serve with sourcream and guacamole for a yummy twist on a great mexican favorite.

    Another great recipe is a lemon whip dip poured over grilled pineapple.

    Blend; 4oz. sour cream, 2 tbsp lemon juice, zest of 1 lemon, and 4 tbsp honey. Continue to blend until smooth and aerorated. Grill the pineapple til golden and top with lemon whip.

    This is a great recipe to satisfy your sweet and sour tooth!


  32. My favorite summertime snack is just your basic fruit smoothie – blend a cup of apple juice, a frozen banana (broken in half), 2 frozen strawberries, and whatever other fruit is on hand. It’s perfect for these hot summer days.

    I think the Magic Bullet would be perfect to make slushies. I have tried in my blender, but it just doesn’t work that well. I take some frozen strawberries, add some apple juice and a little bit of sugar to taste. Delicious!


  34. Well, we love our Magic Bullet. We’ve had it for 6 years and it’s starting to go. =( We’ve used it for Everything!!! Baby food, sauces, milkshakes, salsa, chicken salad.
    I think the fav in the house is the smoothies.
    1.5 frozen bananas
    3 frozen strawberries
    1tbsp. sugar
    fill almost full with milk and blend til smooth add 2 spoonfuls of van icecream and blend.

  35. Oh me, oh my! My mom bought us a magic bullet a few years ago and I love it! It makes the best smoothies, cocktails, salsa, baby food, guacamole…oh I can go on and on.

    Yummy Smoothie
    1/2 cup frozen blueberries
    1/2 frozen banana
    1 tube of yogurt (Go-Gurt) about 1/4 cup
    spoonful of strawberry jam
    3 mint leaves
    fill up with milk
    and zip zip zip…it’s so good!

    My Pinwheels are always a hit at parties where you need finger/snack foods!!

    This makes a lot because I make them for parties!!

    3 (8oz) pkg. Cream Cheese
    2 pkg. Ranch Dressing mix
    1 can chopped black olives (the small cans, I’m not sure of the size!!)
    2 Tbsp Dill relish
    Sliced meats
    Shredded Cheese
    Tortillas (I like to use the flavored ones!)

    Mix the first four ingredients together. (This is where the bullet could be used!) Spread in a thin layer on 2/3 of a tortilla. Top half of covered tortilla with some shredded cheese (not too much!) and a single line across of sliced meats. Roll up and if it doesn’t seal, put a little more of the spread on the seam to seal it. Lay seam side down on a tray. Repeat until you have enough, or all tortillas are used, or you run out of spread! Refrigerate for at least one hour and then slice into 1in. slices.

    I always make these for my husband’s work Christmas party, and I use the Sundried Tomato and Spinach tortillas and arrange them in a checker pattern! It’s cute because they are green and “orangish”, there are no red ones!

    Hot artichoke dip:
    1 cup best foods (must be full fat) mayo
    1 cup + 1/3 cup parmesan cheese, divided
    2 cans artichoke hearts in water (drained and chopped)
    3 cloves garlic, minced
    pinch cayenne pepper

    combine mayo, 1 cup parm. cheese, artichokes, garlic, and cayenne and put in oven safe dish. Sprinkle remaining cheese on top and bake at 350 for 25-30 minutes or until bubbly. I like to get a bit of “cheese crust” so I go the full 30 minutes. If you use low fat mayo it will seperate a bit and not be as fabulous.

    Serve with club crackers or whatever you like!

    I would LOVE a magic bullet, especially since my blender broke not too long ago and I am without!

    I don’t have a Magic Bullet, but I make fruit sorbet in my MIL’s. :)

    Take a half a cup of frozen fruit (I like raspberries) and put them in the blending cup. Mix two to three teaspoons of sugar with three tablespoons of water. When the sugar is dissolved, pour in with the frozen fruit. Blend well. Place in the freezer for another 10 minutes or so, and enjoy!
    I also like to add a dollop of fresh (lightly sweetened) whipped cream to mine, but my kids prefer it without.

    Yummy Smoothie:
    2 cups frozen mixed berries
    1 cup strawberry flavored yogurt
    1 banana, sliced
    1 cup milk
    1/2 teaspoon white sugar (optional)
    Combine the mixed berries, strawberry yogurt, banana, milk and sugar. Cover, and blend until smooth. Pour into glasses and serve.

    Watermelon Slushy:
    4 cups cubed seedless watermelon
    10 ice cubes
    1/3 cup fresh lime juice
    1/4 cup white sugar
    1/8 teaspoon salt
    Place watermelon and ice into a blender/bullet. Pour in lime juice, sugar, and salt. Blend until smooth. Top it off with a watermelon wedge on the rim of the glass.

    When my kids are hungry for a milkshake, we make a healthy fruit smoothy as an alternative…orange juice, vanilla or orange creme yogurt, ice , milk and a splash of vanilla. A bullet would make this even easier!!

    serves 1

    1 1/2 cups of ice cream
    3/4 cup of milk
    3 oreo double stuff cookies.

    Pour in the milk and ice cream into a blender. You may also add some ice as well. Turn the blender on to a low speed. Blend until the mixture is smooth. Mix with a spoon to fold in anything that wasn’t blended enough, then continue blending the mixture – hopefully the Magic Bullet will take care of this!! Take each Oreo and crush them as you add them to the blender. Blend everything together; you’ll want either the cookies to be pureed or for about 10 seconds in total.Pour in glasses

    * 1 1/2 teaspoons ground black pepper

    whir it all together!

    a few frozen peach slices

    4oz water


    Chop half a banana into slices, place in plastic baggy and freeze overnight. (Do the same with the other half and save for future shake. Trust me, there will be a future shake.)

    Gather ingredients.

    Place half banana (now chopped and frozen) into blender. Add 1/3 cup ice, 6 ounces of skim milk and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract. Blend until smooth

    2 cups (3 handfuls) fresh baby spinach

    4 Tbsp. (2 scoops) flax seed

    Blend this in your Magic Bullet blender and enjoy.
    You can add more or less juice, or add some cold water to get the consistency that you prefer; or leave out the yogurt, if you don’t want dairy.
    Sometimes I will add a few tablespoons of honey just to get the benefits of honey, not because the smoothie needs to be sweetened.

    Home made restaurant style salsa. 1 small can chopped tomatoes, 1/2 cup cilantro, 1/2 unseeded jalapeno, 1/4 cup red onion, 1/2 lime’s juice, 1/2 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp cumin, 1 clove garlic, 1/2 tsp balsamic vinegar (optional), 1 TBSP olive oil, 1 clove garlic, 1 tsp sugar. Pepper to taste. Throw all in the blender and blend to liquidy consistency. (I don’t even bother to chop the ingredients. Serve with tortilla chips. Add more salt if needed.


  62. We have been having a daily Green Smoothie here almost every day. It has been great to get green veggies in my kids who wouldn’t touch it on their plates. Basically, in the bullet you put whatever variety of frozen or fresh fruit you have, some juice (I usually use orange juice) and then raw lettuces, spinach and/or kale. After it is done blending I might add some stevia if it needs a little sweetening. Also, one thing that I found out was that adding 3-4 dried prunes helps the smoothie thicken up and not seperate. We like the taste with the prunes better, too. In a regular size blender we feed our family of 5. I would love a magic bullet!

    Take a can of pie filling, freeze it, and empty the can into your blender (or Magic Bullet) and blend until smooth. I’ve found it helps to break the frozen filling up into large pieces before it blending. You may need to put it back into the freezer for 20 minutes or so to refreeze a little after blending.b

    Layer 1: one can refried beans

    Layer 4: 2 cups diced tomatoes

    Layer 5: 2-3 diced green onions

  75. My three year old doesn’t like vegetables so I make up pizza recipes all of the time. Here is his favorite.

    My Potamus’s Pizza
    One whole wheat pita (the round kind, not the pocket kind)
    1/4 cup tomato sauce pureed (the Magic Blender would work great) with two fresh basil leaves and a small handful of fresh spinach leaves
    Handful of mozzarella cheese
    Small handful of fresh spinach leaves (I get this in the organic bulk food section near the salad)
    1/4 of small can of diced chicken (or use leftover chicken of any type that you might have)
    Drizzle of olive oil

    Take the whole wheat pita and smear the sauce all on top, nice and thick. Add the cheese, spinach and chicken then drizzle lightly with olive oil. You can add any other veggies or meats on top that you or your kids like (I have even used carrots and peas before and got away with it). I like to use fresh. Bake at 350 degrees until everything is bubbly, melted and starts to brown.

    My boys gobble this down and my three year old will eat anything on a pizza! :) This makes it healthier. This is also super yummy cut up in squares for an appetizer for a party.

    2 8 oz. crescent rolls
    3/4 cup sour cream
    1/4 cup mayonaise
    1 8 oz. pkg. cream cheese
    1 pkg. Hidden Valley ranch dressing
    1 tsp. dill weed
    1 tsp. parsley
    1/4 tsp. garlic powder
    1/4 tsp. onion powder

    other ingredients:
    1 cup shredded cheese (optional)
    any vegetables (about 1 1/2-2 cups carrots, celery, broccoli, cauliflower, etc)

    Grease cookie sheet or 9×13 pan and press crescent rolls in pan. Bake at 400 for 10-12 minutes.
    Mix the above ingredients together and put on crust. Then put on the veggies and cheese in any order.

    Couple large handfuls of spinach
    1/8-1/4 cup orange juice {enough to make everything blend}…..also can use basically any kind of juice

    Chicken salad is one of our favorite’s to make–and would be so easy to make in a Magic Bullet!!

    1. Fill Magic Bullet about 1/2 way with cooked & slightly cut up boneless, skinless chicken breast
    2. Add small handfull of nuts & fruit (or favorites are craisins and pecans)
    3. Add low-fat mayo & dijon mustard to desired consistance
    4. salt & pepper to taste

    Mix it all up, put it on your favorite bread, croissant, or even some crackers and ENJOY!

    I would absolutely love to win this! I have Idiopathic Gastroparesis which is an incurable stomach disease and I can’t eat many things but when I do eat it needs to be closer to liquid for me. My husband, 3 yr old son, and I love snacking on fruit salad. We don’t always use the same fruits we are changing it up constantly. But it would be alot easier with the Magic Bullet because I wouldn’t have to chop and or peel it all myself.

    We use any and all fruit. (Strawberries, apples, pears, grapes, blueberries, bananas, etc)
    I then add a vanilla yougurt low/non fat.
    Sometimes we add extras to change it up like granola, nuts, Splenda, or anything we can think of.

  83. Baked goat’s cheese with tepanade (olive/sundried tomato spread)

    The Ingredients
    1 small round Chevre (goats cheese, or you could use brie or any other round creamy cheese)
    3 sun dried tomatoes (the kind that come in oil)
    6 leave of fresh basil
    1 anchovy fillet (also the kind that come in oil)
    12 black pitted olives

    The Tools
    Knife for chopping (or a magic bullet!)
    Oven proof plate or dish

    The Method
    1. Place all the ingredients except the cheese on a chopping board and have at it. This is the bit that would be MUCH easier with the magic bullet. Food processor is ok but doesn’t chop quite fine enough. You want it not quite pureed.

    2.Place your round of cheese on the oven proof plate

    3. Spread the puree all over the cheese

    4. Bake at 200 C (approx 400 F) for about 10 minutes. Until the outer creamy layer starts to go runny and it is warm through.

    Serve with a crusty french loaf .

    Can be made ahead quite successfully and is great for sharing.

  87. I have the perfect recipe for the MAGIC BULLET! It is called Apple Berry Salsa. It was originally a Pampered Chef recipe that I have tweaked a bit. Makes a great and healthy snack with lots of uses for the MAGIC BULLET.

    2 medium apples (I use fuji or golden delicious) peeled cored and chopped
    1 pint of strawberries (about 1-1/2 c), chopped
    2 kiwi, peeled and diced
    2 T. packed brown sugar
    2 T. orange juice (and zest if you use fresh oranges)
    2 T. apple jelly or apricot preserves
    Coarsely chop apples. Chop strawberries and kiwi, but not too much. You don’t want it to be mush. Add zest, juice, brown sugar and jelly to fruit. Mix gently. Refrigerate til ready to serve.

    Serve with cinnamon graham crackers.

    This recipe is delicious as a dip with apples!!

    Taffy Apple Dip

    1 (8oz) cream cheese, softened
    ¾ cup brown sugar
    ¼ cup granulated sugar
    1 Tablespoon vanilla
    1 cup dry roasted peanuts, crushed or chopped (I assume the Magic Bullet could take care of this for you as well)
    Apple slices

    Blend together first 4 ingredients. Once blended fold in peanuts. Chill for at least 1hour. Serve with apple slices( soak mine for a little bit in water (covering them) and a little lemon juice…keeps them from turning yellow and also gives them a good crisp flavor.

    Apple Berry Salsa:

    2 medium Granny Smith apples, cored and peeled
    1 cup strawberries, hulled
    1 kiwi fruit, peeled
    1 small orange
    2 T. packed brown sugar
    2 T. apple jelly (can also use apricot)

    1. Use the cross blade and pulsing action to chop the apples, strawberries and kiwi and then place the chopped fruit in a mixing bowl.

    2. Zest and juice the orange.

    3. Add the orange zest and juice, sugar and jelly to the fruit and mix gently. Serve with cinnamon tortilla chips.

    Cinnamon Tortilla Chips:

    4 flour tortillas

    1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.

    2. Lightly spray or brush the tortilla shells with water and then sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar.

    3. Cut each tortilla shell into 8 wedges, place in a single layer on a baking sheet or stone and bake for 8-10 minutes, until lightly browned. Cool completely.

    I use a whole mango and dice it.
    I use about ten peppermint leaves from my garden chopped.
    Depending on the amount I make I use a half/whole red onion diced.
    I use about a Tbsp of fresh ginger grated.
    I use some EVOO about 2 Tbsp or so.
    I use a half of a lemon and squeeze the juice into it.
    And some lemon zest, I eyeball it. :)

    Mix together and Wah-Lah!

    This is the best summer salsa. Everyone in our family loves it and requests it often. lol

    My favorite thing to blend (especially on a hot summer day) are fruit smoothies.

    Fill the bullet cup with frozen fruit of your choice. We usually use strawberries with maybe a couple of pieces of pinapple &/or banana. Fill the cup 3/4 the way full of milk of your choice. We have been using Almond Milk and love it! Then add sweetener of your choice… somewhere between 1/8 & 1/4 cup. Everyone in our family has a preference of sweetness… I like to use Spenda, my husband likes organic sugar. Top it off with 1 tsp of vanilla and blend! Yummmmmmmmmmy and healthy! Add a little yogurt in place of milk.. be creative!

    4 large tomatoes, chopped
    1 onion, chopped
    1/2 cup chopped fresh cilantro

    In a medium-size mixing bowl, combine tomatoes, onion, cilantro, garlic, lime juice, tomatillo, and salt to taste. Mix well. Add 1/2 of the jalapeno pepper, and taste. If you desire your salsa with more of a kick, add the remaining 1/2 jalapeno. If you are satisfied with the salsa’s heat, do not add the remaining jalapeno pepper. Cover the salsa, and chill until ready to serve.
    1 tablespoon lime juice
    1 tomatillo, diced (optional)
    salt to taste
    1 jalapeno pepper, minced

    My favorite snack is super healthy and yummy too! Add together 20 oz. of water, 1 or 2 ripe bananas, 2 ripe nectarines, and 2 cups of packed spinach (or other healthy green).   110. One of our favorite summertime snacks is fresh, cold, homemade Gazpacho! It’s so easy to make, but a Magic Bullet would simplify the process even more!

    You can customize the recipe to your own personal taste – we usually use whatever is ripe in the garden, what came in that week’s CSA delivery or whatever we happen to have in the fridge from our latest U-Pick-It trip!

    Here’s what I’d recommend starting with:

    Fresh, ripe tomatoes
    Green peppers
    Jalapeno pepper (or a dash of hot sauce — both optional)
    A dash of Lemon Juice
    Tomato Juice or V8 Juice (if you like your gazpacho thinner)
    A dash of Red Wine Vinegar
    Garlic clove
    Salt, Pepper, Spices of your choosing (oregano, basil, thyme and/or cilantro are good)

    Put your chosen ingredients in your Magic Bullet, blend away and serve with a dollop of sour cream (especially if you went spicy) or some crunchy croutons. If you have time to refrigerate before serving, that will help the flavors blend. If you’re going to serve the gazpacho immediately, I’d add an ice cube or two to the mix before blending.

    The beauty of this recipe is that you can use whatever you have on hand. With a Magic Bullet, each member of your family can make their own, which is great when one person hates onions, another doesn’t like spicy dishes and someone else is trying to stay on a low-sodium diet. You can prepare the individual components of the soup and let people choose which ones to include in their Bullet cup! For a very casual meal, you could eat the soup right out the Bullet mug!

    You end up with a nutritious, delicious, no-cooking-required, fresh from the garden summer meal! What could be better than that? (Well, maybe winning a Magic Bullet, but not much else!!!!)


  111. We love to make iced coffees in our magic bullet. Blend a cup of cold coffee, any flavor creamer you like (as much you like, I like A LOT), a few ice cubes (I like to freeze some coffee in ice cube trays so it doesn’t dilute the coffee flavor!) and blend well. For mocha, add some chocolate syrup. So yum and quick on hot day! Saves a ton of money too, those $5 frapps from the coffee shop add up! Oh, and don’t forget you can whip up some homemade whip cream in the magic bullet (another of my faves) by using a cup of heavy cream, splash of vanilla and a few sprinkle of powdered sugar. Perfect on top of that iced coffee!

    We make Smoothies in our blender; but I bet the Magic Bullet would make them a whole lot better. We start with a banana, one low fat yogurt, 1 pack of Sweet n Low, 1/2 cup milk………blend it up, then add about 1/2 to 3/4 cup frozen fruit and blend till smooth. We use blueberry yogurt with blueberries, etc.

    1 T Tabasco sauce (can omit this if you don’t like it hot)

  118. Thank you, for holding such a wonderful giveaway, I truly appreciate it! I am a 3 time cancer survivor (age 10, brain tumor[Menegeoma], age 21 Uterine Cancer [discovered when I was 6 months pregnant], age 36 skin cancer), as well as a Service Connected Disabled Veteran (US Army 6 years).

    My favorite snack to make is Pico De Gallo! I absolutely love Pico de Gallo—the freshness of tomatoes, the clean flavor of cilantro, the cool, crisp wonderfulness of it all.

    Five plum (Roma) tomatoes (firm, not soft), 1/2 large or 1 small onion, 3 jalapeno peppers, cilantro, lime juice, and salt. These quantities are approximate; you might need to increase or decrease the numbers, depending on the size of the vegetables you find.

    Begin by cutting the ends off the jalapenos and chopping them into a small dice. Keep going until you have a nice-sized pile.
    (this is where having a magic bullet would come in SOOOOOO handy! as all the following steps would be…Put in Magic Bullet and pulse untill chopped)

    Throw ‘em in a bowl, seeds and all. Surprisingly, this quantity of jalapenos did not add unbearable heat to the finished product. If you’re nervous about spiciness, you could decrease this amount at first, adding more later if you think you can handle it. Or, you can scrape the seeds from the jalapenos and discard them, as that’s where a lot of the heat resides.

    Now begin dicing the tomatoes. First cut them lengthwise into thin wedges.

    Then rotate the wedges 90 degrees and slice them into a fine dice.

    Keep going until they’re all diced…

    Then throw ‘em into the bowl with the jalapenos.

    Now it’s time to dice the onions. First turn the peeled onion on its side and make vertical slices.

    Then rotate the onion 90 degrees and slice downward to dice.

    Keep going until it’s all done…

    And throw it on top of the jalapenos and tomatoes.

    Stir together

    Now chop up a nice-sized bunch of cilantro. Don’t be stingy here! You can cut off the long stems before you start, but there’s no need to peel the leaves from the stems.

    Chop until it’s relatively fine, but not minced.

    Throw it into the bowl with the other yummy ingredients.

    Then squeeze half of a small lime into the bowl.

    Add salt to taste. A couple of shakes should suffice. You might need a bit more, but keep in mind that your chips (or other accompaniment) will likely be salty.

    Stir together.

    And here it is—Pico de Gallo, baby! Notice how the tomatoes are only a part of the beautiful melange of ingredients? There’s plenty of jalapenos, onions, and cilantro to add to the diversity of taste and texture. Now it’s all ready to go on tacos, inside quesadillas, atop steamed fish, or OF COURSE, with tortilla chips.

    Pico de Gallo won’t keep very long in the fridge—probably 24 hours or so. After that, the sugars start to break down and it turns into a soupy mess. So it’s best to make it the same day you’ll want to serve it, though you certainly could do so several hours before.

    One of my favorite recipes to make during the summer is Chicken Salad ~or~ Seafood Salad. I love to make these recipes because they are so versatile. I can use them in sandwiches, wraps, with crackers or on top of a salad! It is a perfect recipe for my husband’s lunch box as it never seems to get old. The fun part of the salads is that you can mix and match the ingredients depending on what you have on hand. The quantity of each item in the recipe will depend on how large of a batch you need! :) It is also easy to make chicken salad and seafood salad in the same day because the ingredients are the same!
    Here is what I suggest:
    * 1+ pound of chicken, tuna, shrimp or crab (or a combination of the seafood), minced or chopped; depending on the consistency you prefer.
    * a stock or two of finely chopped celery
    * 1/2-1 apple finely chopped
    * a hand-full of grapes halved
    * 1/2 cup finely chopped nuts (pecans or walnuts?)
    * salt and ground pepper
    * 1/2 cup mayo + 1/2 cup sour cream ~or~ 1 cup Miracle Whip

    Mix it together!

    Serve on lettuce with crackers, on top of salad, in a wrap or on a sandwich!

    1 baguette
    Good extra virgin olive oil
    1-2 garlic cloves, cut in half
    2 tomatoes (preferrably home-grown or vine-ripened)
    1 8oz ball of fresh mozzarella
    Handful of fresh basil leaves
    Salt, to taste

    Directions: Preheat oven to 350F. Place tomatoes, mozzarella, basil, salt and a bit of oil into Magic Bullet. Chop coarsely, then place mixture in refrigerator. Cut baguette on diagonal into 1 inch thick slices (this gives maximum surface area for your topping). Place slices on cookie sheet and drizzle with olive oil. Bake until golden brown. Remove from oven and rub each slice with cut side of garlic clove. Top each slice with tomato mixture and return to oven until cheese is melted. Serve hot!

    We made a V-eighty type drink that is our favorite pick-me-up snack in our blender.
    Fresh veggies including: 1 medium tomato, 1 red bell pepper, 1 celery stalk, 1 carrot, 1 cucumber, small handful of spinach, 2 green onions.

    Prepare all veggies by washing them. Add slowly to blender and blend. Then add ice/water to your favorite consistency. Makes 2 glasses.

You melt a layer of the cream cheese a little in the microwave, add a layer of salsa, top with mexican shredded cheese, and put in the microwave again until the cheese on top is melted.     PLACE coffee and chopped chocolate in blender; cover. Blend on high speed until chocolate is chopped into small pieces.

    POUR evenly into 2 tall glasses. Top each with 1 Tbsp. of the whipped topping and 1 tsp. of the grated chocolate. Serve immediately

    An awesome snack (and quite fun to make!) is PUPPY CHOW. No, not the dog food… this chocolate, peanut butter, confectionary yumminess:

    9 cup Chex cereal (or similar corn/rice cereal)
    1 cup chocolate chips
    1/2 cup peanut butter
    1/4 cup butter
    1/4 teaspoon vanilla
    1 1/2 cup powdered sugar

    Put cereal in large bowl. Melt chocolate chips, peanut butter, and butter. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla.
    Pour over Chex cereal, put into a large plastic bag with powdered sugar and shake well to coat.

    Spread mixture evenly on wax paper and allow to cool.

  143. I know it’s too late to enter the competition aspect of this! But here is a recipe that my kids loooove to eat that I wanted to submit that you can send along too!
    Red Black and White Roll-ups:
    1/2 c sund dried tomatoes
    1/2 c olives
    3/4 cream cheese (softened)
    2 tbs basil pesto
    8 pieces of ham
    4 tortillas
    4 leaves of lettuce

    put the first 4 ingredients in the Magic Bullet and blend. Then get 4 flour tortillas and spread with cream cheese mix that was just blended in the magic bullet. After that, place a piece of ham and a lettuce leaf on top of each tortilla. Roll up like tightly and cut into 1 inch slices! Enjoy!!

  145. I have a smoothie for breakfast, I eat lunch at home then off to work where I usually eat whatevers in the vending machine. With the Magic Bullet To Go I could make a smoothie for breakfast, have a healthy lunch, and in seconds make a smoothie right at work for dinner.
    1/2 c. blueberries
    1/2 c. strawberries (cut up)
    1/2 of a medium banana (cut up)
    1/2 c. yogurt
    1/2 c. almond milk
    1 Tbsp. Whole Ground Flaxseed Meal

    I do vary it with the fruits and sometimes use juice instead of the almond milk. If you would like to sweeten it a bit I’d use a sweetener.

    Put a can of coke in a tall cup with the lid and stick it is the freezer until it’s frozen-ISH, not rock solid. Take off the lid, put of the mixing blade and blend until you have an icee! I love using cherry coke zero! It feels super indulgent because it’s an icee, but it has no calories if you’re using a diet drink! It’s my favorite thing I’ve tried with my blender!
