Seeding and dicing cucumbers

July 5, 2007 by Heather Solos

Heather says:

Ever bite a bitter cucumber? The compound that causes the bitterness is created when the plant is stressed. Hear that farmers? Be nice to your veggies.

Many recipes call for seeded cucumbers, don’t be daunted it’s a simple process.

Peel your cuke and slice it in half, lengthwise.

Use a spoon to scoop out the seed cavity.

To create an even dice, slice the cucumber in half, crosswise for a more manageable portion.

Slice the cucumber lengthwise into strips.

Finish by cutting the cucumber crosswise into an even dice.

Enjoy.
