Balancing your dreams with the reality of life

Here’s a behind-the-scenes look at Heather and I- we balance each other out nearly perfectly. When I’m struggling or overly busy or sick or whatever, Heather’s doing well and picks up my slack. When Heather’s struggling, I’m doing fine. Sometimes we’re both doing fine at the same time, even. It’s pretty rare that Heather and I are both struggling on the same day. Well, except for today- Heather has a massive migraine and I have a worse-than-usual toothache. (Don’t worry, guys, I’m seeing a dentist on Monday!!!)

So, since we’re both feeling yucky, I though we’d spark a discussion. We all have dreams, but sometimes the reality of life gets in the way. Sometimes, you have to shrug off the reality of life and just go for your dreams, like a friend of mine who up and moved to New York City on the spur of the moment and it’s worked out well for her. Sometimes you have to sit back and wait until the timing is right, like my dream of traveling all over the world and writing about it. Naturally, this takes money I don’t have and my kids are really too young to just up and start traveling- with or without them.

You have to work toward your dreams in one way or another, though, and balancing that with your regular everyday life can be tough. So, Home Eccers, what are your dreams and how are you working toward them? Or are you having trouble balancing your wants and desires with your needs?
