Happy trails, Heather! I hope your trip to Minnesota is enjoyable & relatively uneventful. You must be visiting Mr. Heather’s family, am I right? You don’t say which part of our state you are headed to…..while you’re here, you may even be able to hit the State Fair. That’d be a good time! Whatever, enjoy!

Haha. I did the mashed potatoes in the blender thing once. You’re right…it doesn’t work!

Although I know I’ve messed up food, I can’t really think of one. I have grabbed a metal handle that was sitting over a flame on a gas eye. Grabbed the whole pot and picked it up before the pain hit. I almost died, it hurt so bad!

I was trying to make mashed potatoes for Thanksgiving one year. Couldn’t find the beaters for the hand mixer and so decided to try making them in the blender. Mashed potatoes were not meant to be made in the blender. It was more like potato soup!

The 9th was my sweet, bike w/pedals riding, guitar playing 2 year old birthday. Enough bragging.

There was almost a riot between 2 not so well adjusted families, and unfortunately me too, I just about cracked from the pressure. It was pouring rain so half the people didn’t come, ones who did complained as if they don’t live in the pac northwest, a few went so far as to criticizing my parenting and calling us bad people for not showing up to a shindig for the boyfriend’s parents *uninvited* (after a scuffle between us all about them assuming it was okay to take my toddler camping w.out even asking me) but she told us *~I~ told M to call his dad, he didn’t and you suck*?

I said some choice words, got defensive, wrapped up the party. Kid had a blast, thank god. Sent a couple of sorry – I’m PMS’ing – stressed out emails just to keep the peace, crossing my fingers behind my back..

Whew.. oops. This got long!

Accidental substitution as a result of not having labelled the spice bags from the bulk store (and clearly lacking in mental function that day): used garlic powder instead of cream of tartar in a lemon cake.

’nuff said.

Decided once to make Mac and Cheese while I was at work in the crock pot. Set on low and went off to work. It was perfectly done by dinner time, and so I put in the milk and cheese and set it on the table. Well, apparently mac and cheese was NOT meant to be slow cooked, because though it looked perfect, it tasted horrible. Think wall paper paste with cheese.
