Sunday Confessional: The Free for All

Me too!!!! I'm also completely addicted to TV. I can watch hours at a time. The two are adangerous combination.

I got a really bad ear infection right before Christmas. REALLY BAD. I went to ER on Saturday and was prescribed antibiotics. Come Tuesday,......I had no more hearing in the ear and got prescribed different antibiotics, steroids and painkillers.

I am admitting that when I was on those painkillers was the ONLY time in my life that I have ever ENJOYED doing laundry and washing dishes. Laundry now is even worse than it was before that ear infection.

Since we are talking about those painkillers......they are also the reason my house looked so Martha Stewart this Christmas.

For some reason those pills transformed me into the Super Housewife/Business Person/Mom. I don't miss them....I couldn't sleep well while on them and they made my tummy a bit quesy. But I do think of a time four weeks ago when I actually was upset because there was no more laundry to fold (but not that upset, you know?)

I've sometimes wondered if laziness and procrastintion are the same thing; I seem to suffer from both and can't decide which failures-to-act belong to which cause. Well, I'll think that through tomorrow ......... :)

Anyway, Monday is my day off and the laundry is calling, and my home blessing (thank you, FlyLady, for helping me to see it that way, even if I don't get it all done), and my sewing room's complete disarray is preventing me from making the new grandbaby's outfits that I have tottering stacks of fabric for ....... and here I sit with my laptop, watching the Animal Channel. Sigh.
HOW CAN WE LAZY PROCRASTINATORS MOTIVATE OURSELVES?
HELP!

My middle name is (or should be procrastinator). I thought about changing it, and maybe I will... someday. I am not "lazy" per se, but put things off until they are late or critically close to it.

I am a 'lets do it tomorrow' person. I leave everything until the next day. I am lazy. However, it comes to the point when I can no longer pass it until tomorrow so I end up doing it in a rush and panic.

I get it from my grandad...

I'll let you win.. but my laundry, from the same time frame, as you mentioned, has been washed twice, now, and is still in the washing machine!

My vacation, in Florida, has just become a girl's trip.. my 15 year old daughter and I.. (1/25-2/1)

My Confession: I wish you were going with us. I'd probably bore you to tears.. but the lodging is free and the kiddos are more than welcome. Its a resort. Would our blog readers hate us?

All I want to do is SLEEP! That is it... I think partly that I do not have to think about what problems I have going on and the other part is because it is just warm there and I like my bed.

Last night I decided to start giving myself simple, but worthy list of chores and goals each day. Today was My first day and I didn't do a damn one! Wait, I did manage to gag down the 16oz. Of water I told myself to drink!

I went to Hell-Mart before school last week to buy a pair of pants for my son because I was too wiped out from the holidays to do the wash Sunday night. PLUS--I made him change in the car. In the parking lot. Before buying him breakfast at a fast food joint. At which place I forgot to buy anything for my toddler to eat.

Do I win?

I've been using the missing toilet (home remodeling) as an excuse to not do laundry. It was my birthday so I figured it could wait . Been working on my blog all day. Which wouldn't matter except tomorrow #2 gets her braces off and then I have to work a funeral tomorrow afternoon, and it's my only day off this week. Oh well, I will get it done. I don't seem to waste as much time now that I work. Plus I have extra energy now with the VIt D that just has to be used.

My confession though is as soon as everyone goes to work tomorrow, I am turning on the heat. We have been trying to conserve energy and Hubby is hot natured, and I am frozen. I can't wait to be warm again.

After all those wonderful confessions, mine can get even longer. Let's see, I got laid off from one job and have been working maybe 2 days a week for the past 3 1/2 weeks. Instead of getting tons of stuff done around the house like I dream about doing, I have gotten less then the normal done. Partly out of being lazy, and so fried from working so much, and partly to see how DH feels when I do what he normally does when I am working all the time, and he is inbetween jobs. He wasn't too happy yesterday when he couldn't find a clean suitable towel for his shower and I told him to wash some then.

It's Sunday 5:30 pm, I'm supposed to be cooking supper, bathing the kids, vacuuming, and finishing laundry before MOnday... GOOD TIMES, EH!? I always say I need more hours in a day, but if I just managed them better, I'd be ok... I think I work better under pressure, that's my excuse... and the dog needs a walk, and the 2008 books need to be done...

So my husband asked me this week to clean the house on my day off. It got clean but, I didnt do it. My dad knew that I was not feeling so well and overly exhausted from reconstruction at work from christmas time, so he came over and cleaned for me. I also got to spend much quality time with my 8 month old. Thanks Dad!!!! it was our little secret :)))

I've already fallen off the wagon with my 2009 read-through-the-Bible plan. Sigh. I think I'd better try a structured Bible study instead.

I stinkin' cannot stand doing laundry!! Seriously, I'm slacking big time. I did one load on Friday and dare I admit, it's still sitting in the dryer? Along with a few other baskets that are full and nicely waiting for me in the laundry room. I'm so thankful that room has a door.

I am the Queen of Procrastination in a major way. I am always wishing I had a few more hours to play catch up.....and I love being on the Internet, so that doesn't help. confession-done! check!

I am making braised shortribs tonight from meat that had a sell-by date of 1/7/09. It was slightly "tinged" when I opened the package. I have justified proceeding along on three parallel theories: 1) isn't all beef supposed to be aged? 2) short ribs cook a long, long time; and 3) I am being thrifty not to let these go to waste.

#3 would be more admirable if I had purchased the shortribs in an effort to save them from certain waste. Rather, I bought them last week and was too lazy to do anything with them till today.

Stephanie, my kids are early birds to the extreme. I however need some time to prepare to deal with them. A cup of coffee, a little quiet, etc. Without that I am way less than happy to see their shining faces at 6am.

I'm in laundry hell all the time. We're finally trying to fix it, but jeez. We have too many clothes, yo.

My confession for the day is that I'm baking cookies for my daughters birthday from store bought dough! Don't tell the Make it from Scratch bunch! ;)

I can't top watching Kathy Griffin (under any circumstances). ;o)

My biggest fault is not being disciplined when prioritizing my time - like spending way too much time on the Internet. ;o)
