The house is a wreck and there is an odd funky smell when you walk through the door so I wouldn’t let people in right now either.

I did get Christmas cards sent at the very last minute but I always feel so overwhelmed when I receive my hubby’s family’s Christmas cards-they all do personal photos and enclose letters about who is doing what, and then seal them with pretty stickers, ugh! I just snagged boxes at the drug store and haphazardly signed them and tossed them in the envelopes.

Our Christmas lights are still up outside and I don’t know when they’ll come down. They’re blue icicles so maybe I’ll keep them up to celebrate July 4th, haha!

I gave up on Christmas cards years ago but I NEED to get my thank yous out.

The house is passable but the basement is a wreck as is my office from my attempt at cleaning out the basement.

We’re moving from KY to NH. Here are my confessions:
1. We turned off the email addresses without notifying anyone. Same for phone. Fortunately we don’t live in our house anymore, we have cell phones, and the email address seems to still be working.

2. I did not clean under the refrigerator. Even though I know the appliance repair guy tracked all sorts of stuff and i’ts probably hideously filthy. No probably. I saw it. Who looks under the fridge when they’re buying a house?

3. The bed in the second bedroom is a wooden frame with a dust ruffle stapled to it and bedding placed over it. Looks pretty good except most beds are convex vs concave. But I figure the sagginess will keep people from wanting to sit on it. If they break it I’m not going to be around to fix it.

4. I did not call a friend (casual but we get along really well but we haven’t spoke in months) to let her know I was moving and schedule a last playdate with our kids. I feel terrible about it. My excuse is I couldn’t find her phone number without doing some serious digging.

Oh how true this is. I have to remind myself often that it is alright to be human.

Let’s see where to begin?…the tree is still standing. my toilets need cleaning. The little one is perched in front of the TV while I veg out in front of the computer, and we’re both still in our jammies. There’s food stuck in the carpet in the living room that I’ll probably never clean. Christmas cards…yea right. I didn’t have time to feed the oldest breakfast before school this morning because I over slept…I could go on but I should stop and save at least some face.

We’re human after all. Perfect only when we pretend to be.

2. didn’t send Christmas cards, but I do have New Year’s picture cards (of the toddler) waiting on my kitchen counter, but since we’re out of town for the week and they’re at home, they’re not getting sent out until next week!

2. I let the tags expire on my van because I was too lazy to go to the DMV…..website wouldn’t let me do it online!

3. My horrible neighbors four doors up had a cat that wasn’t neutered and liked to poop in my flower bed. Another neighbor from the other side and down the street knocked on my door and asked if the cat was mine. I said no and she told me that she took it in a month ago and had it neutured and it ran away again. Apprantly, he came back and she was wondering if it belonged to someone. I told her that I didn’t think so…..because he still poops in my flowerbed and what kind of irresponsible neighbor lets an un-neutred male cat wander a neighborhood overrum with stray cats (most of whom are probably his offspring).

4. Did I mention the kids go back to school in 29 hours?

2. My daughter’s 7th birthday is Tuesday and I have done NOTHING for it. Well…I have one sweater bought for a gift but no card, no fun gift, no party planned, and realize I need to take donuts to school Tuesday morning and bake a cake tomorrow night!!!!
