I skipped church because the Cowboys were playing the Redskins at home…it makes it impossible to get to church due to the new stadium being between here and there. That, and I had shopping to do.

There is always more to do ………. life is never finished, I guess (well, eventually it is, but not on a routine basis LOL).
And my house reflects this reality. So does the paper clutter I stuffed in a basket this week so I could have clear the dining room and the carpets cleaned. So the dining room and living room and entryway look great; but don't go in the spare bedroom………

My house is a cluttered mess. My bathrooms need cleaning. Laundry folded. Etc. What did I do with an hour of babyfree time last night? Made cookies. Yum. I did at least do one round of dishes while they baked.

Part confession….part…whatever: I DID manage to make a double batch of cornbread muffins…freezing them for after the baby comes. But I yelled (read:went POSTAL) on my husband when he was late getting back from the store…….and I never DID manage to get the sausage balls made. (My big idea was to make a double batch and freeze for Thanksgiving….for everyone to nibble on while waiting for the rest of the grub.) *sigh* Oh well…

That's funny. I always remember wanting to buy lunch because it was boring to have a sack lunch everyday. Good for him, thinking of a really sound reason!

Thats actually hilarious. I'm on the same thought process as you. It is more important to be happy and loving and functioning 365 than one day out of them all that is amazing. I grew up in a house where birthdays and anniversaries were HUGE (they didn't always turn out happy but they were big days). My husband isn't much of a celebrator. But nearly 7 years later I'm ok with it. Because he shows me love and support and deals with my crap every day of the year.

My confessional: I tried to cop out and tell my 5 yr old to buy his lunch at school b/c I didn't feel like making it. He gave the usual whines that he doesn't like buying his lunch and they didn't make me budge. But then the child came up with the magical reason to bring his lunch, "but mom it saves us money!" My husband and my eyes bugged out and we laughed and quickly made his lunch. I love when my kids start to understand the art of negotiation and really coming up with reasons of why they should get to do something.

Well, at least if he forgot, you did too. It's really depressing if it's one sided. Maybe it's because you are basically content that you forgot??? I can't think of anything to confess that isn't just my regular life. The house needs cleaning, as usual. I just got back from a conference after two days, and my son has a cold. We're staying home from church and having a mellow day at home. I like to think I'll also clean house a bit…but I'm not making any promises.
