Heather says:
The internet and blogs in particular have a way of offering only snapshots of our lives. It’s pretty easy to crop out the messy parts, gloss over the mistakes, and show our lives the way we think they should be rather than as they are. The Sunday Confessional is not a celebration of under achievement. Rather, it’s a place where we can laugh at our shortcomings and know that life is lived and enjoyed well short of perfect.
- I returned from a conference on Sunday and my suitcase is still in the laundry room waiting for me to deal with it.
- I think I fell off the menu plan on Wednesday when I decided to take advantage of the weather and took the kids on a day trip to the zoo. We’ve had brinner (that’s breakfast for dinner) a little too often since. That stops today.
- I’ve taken on a ridiculously big project for the end of the month. It’ll be good for the site (as in the Countdown to Turkey Day Series is getting a major overhaul), but I’m probably going to destroy my house in the process.
What’s on your chest?
*8am update* I just learned of an open casting call for a cooking show in my area. If I’m going to tell y’all to be fearless in the kitchen, then I have to live it. So, wish me luck or whatever is appropriate for this kind of thing.
*7pm update* I’ve never done an audition before, I felt stiff and they wanted personality so it’s likely nothing will come of it. The important part is that I went and tried. ![]()

I made a pie last night-first time to try the recipe so I expected a few glitches.....I guess the pie needed a deep dish shell because when I put it in the oven to bake even though I held some of the topping out because I could see it was going to be filled too full most of the topping came right off! UGH (sweet potato pecan pie--basicly a double layer pie with sweet potato on bottom and pecan pie topping-but I'm allergic to pecans so I used almonds)--other than having a messy cookie sheet to clean this morning (soo glad I put that pie in to bake with a cookie sheet LOL-I would NOT have been happy if I would have had to clean the oven!)--the pie tasted good--just looked a little "funny" LOL
