Ivy broke the handle off in it, today... in my stats, that is. I say! I say!

I dunno melamine from apple butter, so maybe it's a safer plastic. I've seen stuff like this before, and others have referred to it as melamine. In any case, I'm sure it's made with Chinese child slave labor, so it may be tainted with BSE virus, for all I know.

But, FYI: The Hawaiian shirts are bowls, in case the crappy photo didn't make that obvious. Big ol' salsa/dip/soup bowls.

Another issue with gift cards is that people can hack into the company's computers and steal your assets. And there's no guarantee that the card has the value scanned onto it that you purchased.
I give cash. It's usable everywhere, is everyone's favorite color, fits well no matter what the denomination, and I have yet to have anyone return it. :)

Anybody want a Sharper Image Gift Card... free?

Remember to be careful with (especially cheap) melamine.

Melamine should really not be used in a microwave since it absorbs heat.

Chipped melamine dishes should be discarded.

Melamine should not be used with teething children.

Remember, Melamine is toxic. As long as the dish isn't compromised in some way, you are fine... but once it gets scratched, damaged, worn... toss it away. You don't want it in your food.
