If you have a recliner or Lazy-Boy style couch, there is a chance that it has two or three pieces bolted to a frame. If your kid catches a stomach virus or your pet has an accident, this can be incredibly helpful. Turn the couch so the back is resting on the floor and examine the frame, it may be as simple as loosening a few bolts. Who knows, you may even find that Netflix sleeve you accused your spouse of throwing away.
One time I found an overdue library book in the depths of our Lazy Boy. It also used to eat wallets out of pockets all the time.
