Another quick tip is that it is especially good with vanilla sugar (split vanilla beans with the seeds scraped out in a baggie full of plain, white sugar).  Just remember to shake it up every few weeks...  If you top it with a bit of real whipped cream (also blended with a couple of spoons of vanilla sugar and a splash of really good vanilla) it is dessert.
