Since it's processed in a blender it doesn't matter. I used rings this time and have used crushed in the past.

Thank you for the recipe! I cook chicken most nights, and am always on the lookout for new marinades and make-ahead seasoning recipes for them. We'll try this one soon!

I tend to like fruit and meat combinations, but this is not overwhelmingly fruity, the onion, garlic, and soy sauce balance out the sweetness of the pineapple. You may be able to get away with it, if he likes sweeter bbq sauces.

This sounds amazingly good to me. I wonder if I can get it past my Meat Does Not Get Cooked With Fruit husband.

I'd have to do stovetop, since I am grill-less and broiler-less.

I love buying chicken with bones. Don't eat my cooking if this grosses you out, but we save the bones from dinner and toss them into a bag in the freezer. When I've got enough to fill a pot, it's stock-making time! (If the seasoning on the chicken is barbecue, or anything else that wouldn't make your basic chicken stock taste good, that gets pitched.)
