    Our questions come from everywhere.

by Badbadivy on August 23, 2007

    WinkIvy says:

    From Twitter this morning:

Geriatric cat peed on relatively new couch. Cushion doesn’t feel wet to touch, but when you sit down, you get a surprise. I think it’s all soaked into the middle of the cushions. they don’t detach completely. Argh.

Twitter only gives you 140 characters, so you have to be concise. That’s 2 tweets, in case you’re counting the letters.

    My reply was:

Rent a rug doctor w/upholstery cleaning attachments and use nature’s miracle as the cleaning solution. Also try to figure out if there is ANY way you can detach cushions so you can let them sit out in sun, but not for 2 long lest they fade.

That’s also 2 tweets.  So, what do you think? Would you guys be interested in seeing Home-Ec 101 on Twitter? You could get a fairly quick answer from us- everything from “what’s for dinner”, to quick cleaning questions, to getting encouragement from us whenever you need it. Would you guys be interested in that? What kind of tweets would you like to see from us? Enquiring minds, yanno.

I guess I’m not up on the lingo or the computer age as much as I thought I was. I don’t know what Twitter is… Hummm

That’s why I linked to it up there! :D

Obviously I’m a huge fan of having access to you on twitter for emergencies.

An update – I disassembled the couch to some degree tonight. Discovered that the foam in the cushions is not wet – there is a black rubbery layer between the upholstery and foam cushion that seems to be holding the liquid. Febreezed and Petzymed the crap out of it. Can’t rent shampooer until somebody gets paid – in the meantime, there is a layer of towels, layer of plastic, and another layer of towels to mitigate further peeing. Not classy, but we’re in damage control mode. Also moved cat box closer to where geriatric cat hangs.

Twitter would be cool, but aren’t you already crazy busy?

Christy, we wouldn’t guarantee being able to answer every question immediately, but we would answer those we could get to and with the ability to see who follows Home Ec 101, other Twitter users would be able to jump in on queries when they had an answer.

I love twitter so that would be awesome. I didn’t even know ya’ll were on twitter until now. I, of course, clicked right over there and added you! :)

Cat pee can be a disaster, but I’ll remember the advice.
