Some of my family and I went to a cabin for a weekend and when we got there the well had frozen, well not the well its self put the top of the well and the pipe that ran from the well to the pump. Good thing we had a case of bottled water...well that and a nice person next door that let us pump some water to put in the toilet. It turned out to be a good weekend but it could have been very bad, if not for the bottled water:) I would have to agree with you on the having water on hand thing.
