This may see like it's from out of left field, but it is totally in line with your post. I live in Bali Indonesia, and because of the large expat community here I and several of my friends have understood, for a while, the benefits of keeping alive an active, pretty large 'helping network' of acquaintances aiding each other. It could be a small thing like running out of something in the kitchen (not all staples are always available here), or even taking in someone's friend or relative when they come to visit, to avoid (often overpriced) hotel costs.
We have all saved so much over the years, but it has also been a way to make new friends!

I need to finish the remodeling in my kitchen and living area. It’s been pending for way longer than I like due to finances, or the lack thereof. Please think good thoughts that I can get put on full-time at the place I’m currently working 25 hours a week and get that income level up past paying bills so I can finish this task.

Thanks for sharing your story. I’m not too surprised. Your better realtors (and those are just about the only ones left in this market) look at customers for the long term. They will go out of their way to make you a happy person, because they want you to remember them when you are in the market to sell or buy, even if it is ten years down the road.
What do I need? Time would be good. Discipline would be better. Unfortunately those things don’t come in a can.

There is a whole list of things I think I “need”, but when I comes down to it I think they are more wants that would improve my life.
Right now we are out looking for a new vehicle, we are coving 3 states and have many people helping… I just need to stop being so picky I think.
I think not being afraid to ask is the biggest thing. I hate asking people for things, but have a husband that is great at it. He usually asked for me or pushes me till I feel brave enough to do it.

And a good plan to accomplish things that need to be done on a regular basis, as well as how to get moving on some projects that should have been done ages ago. I’d like to finish building this house before I die.

Then, I could use someone to keep me accountable on a day-to-day basis, or to kick my butt when I stray from this wonderful plan that I’m going to come up with.

I think more cowbell would just be easier.

Framed posters. I have several hanging in my living room that I bought at the Van Gogh Museum when i was in Amsterdam last year. Musuem stores are a good resource, but if you want them really cheap, hit up movie theaters, video rental stores, & bookstores, often they receive promotional posters (assuming you don’t mind a poster advertising Jurassic Park hanging on your wall) and will often give them away or sell them at a very cheap price once the item they are promoting is no longer popular. When I worked at Borders I used to take home the book promotion posters, cut off the title, and boom free wall art.

I need projects for the summer….tommorrow I am making our kitchen table bigger. After that…I don’t know. I need ideas for things to put up on the walls. I’ve got some photos of the kids, photos of all the places we have lived (black and white), canvasses the kids painted (abstract)……..any other ideas for cool stuff to put up on my very blank walls? (Feel free to leave ideas directly below this comment!)

I also need a puppy….(lol)
