    mmmMushrooms: A contest

    in Contests

    Heather says:

This post is “sticky” and will remain at the top of the site until the deadline.

Did you know that September is National Mushroom Month? In honor of this we are running a contest. We want your favorite recipe featuring this fab fungus. Portabella, shiitake, button, we don’t care, although I will not test any recipe suggesting I dig through cow patties.

Post your entry on your blog and leave a link in the comments. If you do not have a blog simply e-mail us the recipe. The deadline for entries is midnight EDT on Sept 28th. The winner will be announced on September 30th and the lucky cook will receive a Home Ec 101 t-shirt (available in size S – XL).

    Linkbacks are highly appreciated.

    Oh! Very cool idea!

    Margo September 7, 2007 at 3:08 pm

um, does it have to be an original recipe? Or just one that I love from a cookbook?

I have posted about my sad quest to win a T-shirt. Unfortunately, it doesn’t even mention mushrooms. :)

Here is mine…it is nothing fancy, but my fav.

    Hamburger Gavy over Mash Potatoes
    1 lb Hamburger
1 can cream of Mushroom soup
    1 can milk
    1 pkg mushrooms
7-8 potatoes, cleaned, cooked and mashed

Brown hamburger in pan. Once browed add Mushrooms, soup and milk. Simmer till thickened. Plate mash potatoes and pour mixer over. Add Salt/pepper to taste.

This is about the best of my cooking so this is all I have for you:) Enjoy!
