Menu Monday 5/24/2010

Heather says:

Memorial Day is next Monday, any big plans for the weekend? With thunderstorms in the forecast as far as the eye can see, I reserve the right to switch out items as necessary. Bolded items are ones I hope to add to the site in the near future.

What’s on your menu this week? Are you trying anything new for next week’s Fearless Friday? I think I’m trying a recipe for Beet Cake -naturally the kiddo that can’t have red dye wants a red cake for his birthday, it’s time to start practicing.

Please feel free to share your menu ideas in the comments.

  1. Looks like a delicious menu to me and I'm gonna check out those Kidney Bean Cheese Burgers as we're trying to cut back on red meat. I love your blog :)

Your menu looks great-even to a vegetarian like me! When the weather gets hot, I really start missing all things grilled-chicken, steaks, burgers… *sigh*

My menu plan, if I had one, would be incredibly esoteric this week as I am getting ready to go on vacation and am playing the "let's clean out the fridge" game. Sort of like Russian Roulette. There will be much thawing of frozen entrees and consumption of veggies this week. I may make deviled eggs to use up my eggs.

I just discovered your site and I LOVE it!! It's very helpful for a non-domestic goddess like me. I like how clear and simple your posts are. I wrote about my lack of domesticity on my own blog today and included a link to your site. :)

I'm wondering how to start more formally menu planning. I screwed up yesterday and had a chicken roasting when I realized it was 7:30pm so I cooked pork chops. So tonight we will be having the chicken and roast potatoes. Tomorrow I think I'll make macaroni and cheese but Weds and Thurs we will be out so am at wits end. (by out I mean need to be some place at 6:30)

Those nights are always hard and usually the nights I give in to temptation. When I'm on the ball I have plenty of sandwich stuff around or have a fast meal like eggs & fruit. Bean burritos or chicken wraps work well, too. Good luck.

  6. We are planning on having several cookouts over the Memorial Weekend and sit back and relax a bit. We have been working hard redoing our raised flower beds, plus other major repairs. For this week our menu is just simple things, like sandwiches in which we eat alot when we are busy and it is so hot and humid now. After we come in from the heat we don't feel like eating to much. I love this blog, and i like trying some of your recipes that you have shown. Everything that I've made so far, my husband and I liked. Keep up the good work.
