This week my husband and I went in on the planning together. He thought of meals that he would like this week and I filled in with some others. We then went through the cabnets and fridge and made a list. We then went to the grocery store as a family. We have never done this before and it was so much fun. It was also nice to have the extra hands at the grocery store. He also know what we have and can tell me what he watn for dinner instead of “whats for dinner” all the time.

We have on the list…
brats and chips
Hamburgs, potatoes and green beans
chicken stir-fry
spaghetti and meatballs
Homemade oven mac and cheese

That will bring me to my next shopping day and we will most likely have hamburgers again, my husband could live off of them:)

i have NEVER made a weekly meal plan. it’s hard enough for me to have properly thawed meat. i’m surprised because i love making lists, but i am, in fact, a spur of the moment gal….
however, i know how much easier it would make things and shopping so it kinda clicked with me when i read this post: http://www.thisweekfordinner.com/2008/05/meal-planning-101.html

instead of making an actual meal plan it suggest assigning a theme for each night. hey, i can do that!
