Menu Monday 5/19

Heather says:

Have you ever visited Organizing Junkie’s Menu Plan Monday?  It’s a weekly event with hundreds of participants who share their menu plans.   It is a veritable goldmine of meal ideas.

Tell me, where do you find your dinnertime inspiration and what is on the menu this week?

  • Monday – Grilled chicken drumsticks, pasta salad, butter beans
  • Tuesday – Beef kabobs, vegetable skewers, rice
  • Wednesday – albondigas, cheese quesadillas
  • Thursday – Vegetable omelettes, cheese grits, sliced tomatoes with fresh basil and garlic
  • Friday – C.O.R.N.*
  • Saturday – pizza night, raw vegetables
  • Sunday – grilled whole chicken (the method is called Spatchcock Chicken), candied bacon spinach salad, grilled zucchini and yellow squash

*Clean Out Refrigerator Night  The oldest will be participating in his first recital, we are to bring fingerfoods to share.

Your menu sounds great! 🙂 We’re doing omelettes this week too. I put my menu on my blog:
I’m looking forward to seeing more of your sewing tutorials this summer!

This week my husband and I went in on the planning together. He thought of meals that he would like this week and I filled in with some others. We then went through the cabnets and fridge and made a list. We then went to the grocery store as a family. We have never done this before and it was so much fun. It was also nice to have the extra hands at the grocery store. He also know what we have and can tell me what he watn for dinner instead of “whats for dinner” all the time.

    We have on the list…
    brats and chips
    Hamburgs, potatoes and green beans
    chicken stir-fry
    spaghetti and meatballs
    Homemade oven mac and cheese

That will bring me to my next shopping day and we will most likely have hamburgers again, my husband could live off of them:)

i have NEVER made a weekly meal plan. it’s hard enough for me to have properly thawed meat. i’m surprised because i love making lists, but i am, in fact, a spur of the moment gal….
however, i know how much easier it would make things and shopping so it kinda clicked with me when i read this post:

instead of making an actual meal plan it suggest assigning a theme for each night. hey, i can do that!

I read entirely too many food blogs for inspiration. My Menu Plan is up on my blog.
