Amy, I do double and triple the sauce, as soon as I get around to buying that pressure canner I'll be canning sauce. This summer when the tomatoes are very cheap, I plan on putting up a lot.
Hugh, when freezing for yourself or a family, it's important to figure out your portions. We use about a quart of sauce each week.
PlanningQueen, I wish I could take credit for it. I used to be active on the AOL board Kitchen Frugality and that is where I first saw it used.

I agree - I love to see what others are eating (and this week I'm fresh out of ideas, so I'm using some of yours!).
I like idea of pizza night on Friday night - might have to start doing that. We do pancakes every Saturday morning - I make a homemade pancake mix that whips up as fast as commercial ones, but is healthier and much much cheaper.

We do pizza night in our house on Fridays too. One day I looked at my husband and asked him if he was tired of this. We have done pizza every Friday for years now. He told me he looked forward to it as much as the kids.... so the tradition presses on :)

We streamline the process a lot with buying stuff in bulk, packaging meal kits ahead of time, and making a big batch of sauce to freeze. I am starting to really get it down in record time now :)

Thanks for always sharing those planners- I love to see what people are eating :)

We had an Easter ham at my parent's house Saturday night, so for Easter day we put a huge Boston Butt in the crockpot and cooked it overnight - man, was it delicious! I'll be bringing BBQ sandwiches for lunch all week, and then some.

It takes 4 10 "- 12" pizzas to feed everyone with some leftovers for breakfast/lunch.
We are big eaters though, so use your discretion.

How many pizzas does it take to feed your brood? Of late we've been going through about one and a half larges and that's only if we make a salad with it too! By the time the baby's big enough to eat it, barring any allergies, it may be two full larges? How many do you make for make your own night?
