It's so chilly here that I'm craving soups. Monday- turkey noodle soup, chopped salad, cranberry nut bread. Tues.- Winter squash, potato and sausage gratin. Steamed spinach with butter. Wed.- turkey tetrazini with mushrooms over egg noodles or rice, steamed carrots with butter Thurs.- mac & cheese (with all the odd bits and chunks of cheese in the frig.), steamed broccoli Friday- to be determined (might be c.o.r.n. day) Saturday- Mexican lasagne, pinto beans, cilantro slaw Sunday- brined and grill smoked turkey, banged potatoes (parcooked, lightly smashed but still whole with skin broken, tossed with olive oil, melted butter, parmesan cheese, Italian seasonings and garlic. Place back on the grill to crisp them up and cook until golden brown), baked winter squash and green beans with mushrooms. Yay! There will be lots of tasty turkey for sandwiches and fajitas next week!

This weekend I simmered some turkey thighs in a pot of water so I'd have meat and stock for use during the week. It's not a true beef burgundy, but I enjoyed the heck out of it last week when I was craving beef so badly. I'll try to get it up this week.

Oops, I forgot to include the definition.
