Making Cleaning With Kids More Fun: Cleaning Ninjas

retrochick.JPGIvy says:

My kids were joking recently that we had cleaning ninjas in our house. I had cleaned the kitchen while they were at school and they thought some cleaning ninjas had miraculously come by to clean it up. From there was born a fun way to clean house with the kids: the cleaning ninja method.

The premise is this: clean up, but do it so quickly that nobody can see that you did it. Some jobs are bigger and harder than others to escape detection, so while you’re doing something like that (like unloading the dishwasher), you put on your “ninja disguise” (a t-shirt as a ninja hood) and nobody can see you while you’re doing that cleaning.

Has it worked out? Pretty well, I’ve “caught” the kids cleaning up after themselves, remembering to put a glass in the dishwasher once it’s been used, and they love donning their “ninja disguise” when it’s cleaning time.

Your turn, Home Eccers! How do you make cleaning more fun with the kids?

My kids pretend to be cleaning robots when they are helping me with household chores.

I don’t have kids. May I borrow your ninjas?

When my daughter was young we would crank up the stereo
(that tells you how old I am) and we would be lean, mean, cleaning machines…..she has kids of her own now but she
still talks about how much fun we had…..back in the day.
    God Bless, Pam, South Bend
