Ouchita (pronounced Witch-ee-taw)…old Indian word means, “Water’s ’bout knee deep”. Ouchita Camembert (like the cheese).

ironically, when my mother was expecting my brother, i wanted to name him heather if he was a girl. my mom said “you cant name a kid heather, that’s a flower”

I once had a friend who was having her house roofed by a father and son duo named JoBob and JoEd. We also have a Morris and a Beamis (middle name) in the family.

While it is great fun to “make up” some weird names, I think there are enough “real” names that are quite… ummm.. unfortunate to have.

I went to school with a girl named Aurora Belle Dembrosky. We all called her Rory. Then there was Candice Kane (oh yeah, Candy). I worked with a nurse who did her internship in the maternity ward. She tells the story of the 14 year old girl who wanted to name her child “Filopia” (of the “fallopian tube” type). Apparently, she had heard a doctor say it, didn’t know what it meant and could not be dissuaded from using it. I guess they all get a good laugh from that to this day.

When my second son was born we came up with Logan, after a movie we had watch…anyone guess which one it was? Well my son was 4 and like to rhyme everything…He called him Logan Togan Hogan we have convinced him Logan is much shorter:)

My husbands middle name is Olaf…his family calls him that all the time and yes one of our sons has that middle name, but it makes my hears cringe when they call my husband that as if it were his first name.

When my brother was born I was 5 years old, and I really wanted to name him “Treehouse”. For some resaon my parents didn’t like that name.

So what do you think, Heather? “Treehouse” It has a ring to it, no? We could shorten it and call him “Tree” if you want.
