If you are of the especially frugal mindset, you can cut rags to fit the wand. However, do keep in mind that you must then deal with the hair on the rags at some point. Also don't worry, the fear of the vacuum is pretty common, especially around her age. It will pass. My 3yo loves to vacuum, I let him, I figure even if he's not doing it MY way, he's still sucking up some dirt.

Bridgett- You’re right, it won’t, but by keeping the hair confined to an area and not tracked all over, it may reduce how often you need to vacuum.

Knit- I think they are somewhere in the $12-$15 range. Most of the time, I wait until my daughter is out of the house to vacuum...so I got a RUDE awakening the other day when, pressed for time, I decided to vacuum while she played in the next room. I turned around to see if it was bothering her and she was SOBBING. (she's 20 mos) It TOTALLY freaked her out...so I'm interested in something swifferish to pick up the chunky pieces...I can only go so long until my home looks awful! I've gotta vacuum sometime!

How much are those swiffers? For me, it works better than a stick vac and my kid thinks zipping it around the floor is big fun. However, that won't help for carpets.

I so love Swiffer.
