It’s been so long since it’s rained in Nashville that I nearly took the day off cleaning to dance in the rain. Today, we’re washing walls. I like to mix up a bucket of something that smells fabulous- currently I’m digging Mrs. Meyer’s Clean Day Geranium All Purpose Cleaner. It makes the whole house smell great and stays that way for awhile. The kids, especially, love to wash walls. I also make sure to get the baseboards while we’re there, and we take down the pictures for a good dusting as well.
The other thing we’re doing today is vacuuming out all the vents in the house. Many years ago, we paid to have our vents cleaned, and the people who cleaned the vents brought a shop vac into the house and just vacuumed them out. I’m quite sure there’s some other, better way and that we just got ripped off, but ever since that happened, I’ve vacuumed out the vents with a shop vac in the spring and fall. Whether it just makes me feel better or if it’s actually helpful remains to be seen- my house is pretty dusty both with and without vacuuming the vents. But it still makes me feel better.
The rest of the day will be spent playing Rock Band. Hey, it’s a lazy, rainy day, cut us some slack. ![]()

What is the ration of Clean Day Cleaner to Water?
Do you use sponges for the walls or is there a better wall cleaning utensil that you recommend?
Do you also use this on ceilings?
