In 88 or 89 my parents had the kitchen remodeled. Took longer than expected - ended up with a somewhat working kitchen-but no bathroom on the first floor. 20+ people. 2 kids come down with stomach flu on Thanksgiving morning. Didn't know you couldn't put sweet potato skins down a garbage disposal (installed 2 days before) so the kitchen sink got backed up. The flu ended up hitting every person at the party except for my 2 y/o sister and my dad. Even the people that came on Sunday afternoon got sick. Plus, everyone had to walk past the sick people on Thanksgiving to use the bathroom. Good times.
