    Cookie-a-day (kinda): Rice Krispie Treats

by Badbadivy on December 8, 2007

    WinkIvy says:

I expect the entire world knows how to make Rice Krispie treats, but in case you don’t, here’s a recipe. Rice Krispie treats are probably the highest reward for the least amount of work that I know of. If I were on Death Row, I would want my last meal to be homemade Rice Krispy treats.

Anyway, here’s the recipe I use, which I think is the same one that’s on the box of Rice Krispies:

    Ingredients:

    1/4 C butter or margarine

    1 10 oz bag marshmallows

    6 cups rice krispies

Over medium-low heat, melt butter. Add marshmallows. Once marshmallows are completely melted, add rice krispies 2 cups at a time, stirring thoroughly with each addition. Once thoroughly mixed, pour into 9 x 13 cake pan. Use wax paper to smooth.

It’s seriously that easy, and they are sooo good!

Picture is coming as soon as they’ve cooled enough to cut.

Okay, I rarely make these because I never have cereal on hand.

Tell me the truth. Does generic work just as well here, or do you need to have real Rice Krispies to make a great cookie?

Generic is just fine, as a matter of fact, I used the Publix brand ($2.00 for the big box, as compared to $3.69) for these!
