1.) PE Obama - Would love to know what he's got in store. So excited!
2.) Angelina Jolie - Would love to know how she manages 6 kids. My 2 are makin' me nuts! Plus, she seems super-fascinating. Or Brad if she's busy that night. He can tell me all about HER! lol
3.)William Gibson - Love love love his books. I want to know what he sees in the future for our technological culture.

I haven't answered this in awhile. #3 has stayed the same. #2 now for different reasons. LOL

First off, fitting for the times, I would have Barack Obama. To congratulate him, talk politics, and know him as a person. I think he's pretty cool.

And my favorite authors, CS Lewis and JRR Tolkein.

But I think if that happened, both my husband and I would have brain aneurysms from all the intellegence in the room.

I would love to have Matt, Al and Ann from the today show. Ever since I was a little girl I watched that show. I spend every morning having breakfast with them, it would be nice to actually share a meal with them.

My father, my mother-in-law and my grandmother, just so they could meet the grandchildren they never got to meet while they were alive. To make it a truly traditional Thanksgiving like when I grew up, my Father would show up late because it is hunting season, after all. :)

There is no wrong, but for eye candy though I'm must insist on Vince Vaughan (as he was in Clay Pigeons) or Brendan Fraser. I guess I like men big and able to be a little goofy.

I find myself unable to fantasize to that degree today (recovering from some sort of crud and still kinda brain-fogged).

However, in the past, when I lived within reasonable distance of military bases, I made a habit of inviting young men who were separated from their families - often for the first time in their lives - at the holidays. They would come for Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners and would always leave with a big box of cookies and a couple of pies to take back to the barracks and share (or not).

If you have military bases in your area and extra room at your table, consider calling up the base operator and asking if such a program exists in your area.

about the 'iodine' situation that so vexed your grandma, read this: http://www.straightdope.com/columns/read/2518/what-happened-to-mercurochrome

I know where i grew up in the south, a lot of people CALLED this product iodine, but it wasn't. iodine solution, still used, leaves a yellow brown stain, not the distinctive red of this product. Nevertheless...

Dinner! Ummm, Louisa May Alcott, because she was the first author whom I loved. Besides Little Women and others children's novels, she wrote rather risque (for the time) novellas and also worked for womens rights.

Katherine Swynford, mistress and later wife of John of Gaunt, also the sister in law of Chaucer, because I think Miss Alcott and I would both find her fascinating. She seemed to have lived her life her own way, a rarity in her era. She is the 'matriarch' of the line that eventually became the Tudors.

Finally, a Japanese pholosopher/poet, Murasaki Shikibu because I plan to attempt reading her "Tale of the Genji" based on a friend's advice. It looks quite daunting, so, I'd like the opportunity of a bit of one on one discussion.
