I thought it was my motherly duty to consume the less than perfect bits of cake and scraps of frosting so as not to inflict them on my offspring

I sometimes crumble them to sprinkle on top of the cake to hide imperfections, or save for a ice cream night with the kids Add your favorite ice cream and topings for a great sundue or split

You pile them in a small pan, and cover them with left over butter cream.

Or, as you are icing the cake, you schmear the little bits with butter cream and eat whilst working.

ooooorrrrr You just plop the warm goodness in your mouth and there is no evidence that leftover bits existed.

We save them for the leftover icing and eat them. It is a great way to keep little fingers out of the nice cake you just iced.
