How do you get stuck on hairspray off walls and a cheap linoleum bathroom floor?

The answer is deceptively simple. You’ll need hot water and elbow grease. Use an old rag and water as hot as you can stand it. This should work for semi-gloss paint and your linoleum. If you have flat pain, wipe carefully.
If you have wallpaper, use cool water and sponge gently.
If there is a heavy build up of hairspray make a paste of baking soda
A last resort to try is diluted fabric softener, again test please. Dilute 1 part fabric softener

When I worked in the salon, we had a spray bottle of hairspray that worked wonders to get the hairspray build up off the mirrors, curling irons, walls, floors, etc…probably wouldn’t work on flat paint, but it worked well on semi gloss.
A bottle of hairspray to remove hairspray??? How does that work?
Like dissolves like… the fresh hairspray has a solvent that keeps it liquid until it comes in contact with air, where it dries. When you spray fresh, the solvent dissolves the dried spray, making it easier to clean. Same as if you want to clean grease buildup from a cabinet, and don’t want to use chemical degreasers, believe it or not, some clean oil and baking soda mixed together will take that stuff off easier than using anything water- based
Rubbing alcohol works on hairspray too.
When I worked in the salon we rubbed everything down with rubbing alcohol at the end of the day to remove the buildup. It works really well and leaves you with shiny mirrors and counters.
Using shampoo on the floors and walls (probably not wallpapered ones) should work too.
Using shampoo on the floor worked! 🙂 I am so excited to find an easy solution! It worked best when I put some shampoo directly on the floor, and then used a damp cloth to work it into the residue. I wiped it up, and then went over the entire area with a little vinegar & water solution. It took some elbow grease but it definitely worked! Thanks!
