I like the challenge of Lent as far as meatless meals are concerned. I am not a big meat eater anyway, but my husband is. I saw you have pasties on your list. I make those often in the winter. I am originally from Montana where pasties were big in the mines there in the 1940's or so. I used to make individual pasties, but started following my mother-in-law's idea of a pastie pie instead. It is nice to not have so much pie crust. That is one of the few ideas of my mother-in-law I follow. Have a nice Lent and a great fat Tuesday. P.S. I linked my blog. It's just a "baby blog" right now, but I hope someday to have more time to make it great. My recent post Easy Overnight Oatmeal

I have a few meatless meals too. It might be the taste you're missing.

About your fish stew, have you thought about giving it just a little splash of wine?
