2 Weeks Of Food For $250: Sam’s Club And Kraft Two Week Dinner Planner

Regulars of this site might be, ahem, shocked that I am doing a series of posts that involves cooking, but hang on a second. This is cooking so simple that even I can do it. (We hope, haha.) Sam’s Club in partnership with Kraft has approached us and offered us the opportunity to review and use their two week dinner planner.

This is a neat opportunity for me especially, as I’ve always loved Kraft’s recipes. While Heather loves to cook from scratch, I still rely quite a bit on convenience foods, as I’m a quick-and-dirty (well, clean, but you know what I mean) kind of cook. Sam’s Club and Kraft are offering a two week dinner planner. Two weeks worth of meals, easily shopped for at Sam’s Club, delicious looking recipes, what more could you ask for?

The great part about the dinner planner is one stop shopping. Anyone with kids can tell you shopping can sometimes be a horrific experience, especially if you have to stop at several different places. The dinner planner comes with a convenient shopping list to save you even more time. Where’s your nearest Sam’s Club? Search by zip code right here.

Finally, Sam’s Club members can get an awesome personalized cookbook from Kraft for free! (Valued at $25.) Simply go to samsclub.com/kraft to get started.

Next week, I’ll talk about how the 2 week dinner planner is coming along and I’ll have pictures of some of the delicious recipes for you. I can hardly wait to get started!

    Disclosure:

I was one of five bloggers selected by Kraft Foods to work on the Kraft Foods and Sam’s Club Two Week Dinner Planner program.  I have been compensated for my time commitment to the program which includes my trip to Sam’s Club, my interactions/experience with the two week dinner planner and my posts about my experience.  I have also been compensated for the food purchased for the two week dinner planner.  However, my opinions are entirely my own and I have not been paid to publish positive comments.

Yay! I received the cookbook too, as a *potential* member! I thought it was a brilliant idea and I’m willing to let you be the guinea pig and let us know how it goes!

Congratulations, Ivy, on scoring the Kraft/Sam’s sponsored program. I wish I had good things to say about this, but unfortunately, I have a real problem with Kraft’s typical ingredients lists – too many additives, preservatives, artificial this-n-that, so all I can do is leave feedback that might be of some interest to your sponsors.

I wish there were affordable “convenience” foods for people like me – sensitive to multiple chemicals/preservatives/wheat – I would buy them if I trusted them to be as advertised. Just a few simple “legs up” on recipe staples would be really appreciated, like great organic veggie mixes with organic sauces to put over rice for a really quick dinner, or good simple condiments (tartar sauce in particular!) minus corn syrup, modified food starch, MSG, or other chemicals.

I read labels and buy accordingly, so unfortunately Kraft brand gets eliminated every time. Clear labeling is also a must: I will put back anything that says “modified” anything or “artificial flavoring.” Sure, these ingredients may be perfectly safe to eat, but I won’t chance it, since there are so many things that will make me ill that fall under these blanket labels.

My $.02 – I am happy for those who can enjoy these products as they are (and they certainly are tasty!). I just wish there were “convenience” foods for people like me.

Oh what fun!! A menu, and all the food to go with it! Can’t wait to see your review.

I love Kraft foods, grew up on them, and then my son turned out to be allergic to some food colourings and just to be safe I gave up on all pre-packaged foods. sigh……….. convenience food would be just that a convenience. I get Kraft’s ‘food and family’ magazine, I love it, but I substitute ‘real’ food for the convenience ‘pre-made’ stuff.

Please tell people the ‘”free” cookbook comes with a hefty shipping charge.

This free cookbook just might be the thing that pushes me over into getting that Sams Club membership. Can anyone tell me if they sell Pampers Swaddler diaper club packs??? (if they do…I am going to have to go ahead and get that membership).

I so need a book with conveinant recipes….it ain’t even funny. There is nothing fearless about Becca. By the time dinner rolls around I am looking for anything quick and tasty to put on the table. I’m more of a breakfast and lunch kind of gal, ya know?

Oh boy! I did a little digging and found http://www.samsclubmemberservices.com/Media/Link/pdf/02_KFT_10123_0000_TwoWkMeals_D_Recipes_US_ENG_01.pdf for free even for those of us who don’t have a membership! I “did the math” on their meal-cost and the entire 2-weeks of meals is $70, according to the recipe book. Please be sure and let us know if that lines up with your purchase.
